The WHN Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (CFAC) needs new members! The CFAC is a group of dedicated consumers and family members, each representing one or more of the disability areas and residing in one of the eight counties covered by Western Highlands. Our CFAC is currently seeking additional members - we need your help.Please read and save our membership information document here.


"Change on the Horizon" Mental Health Community Forums

Western Highlands Network presents "Change on the Horizon", a Community Forum addressing current plans for addressing crisis services, medical support and service needs for Mental Health Consumers in the community. The public will have an opportunity to give input and pose questions to the presenters. The forum will take place on the following dates and locations:

For Madison, Mitchell and Yancey Counties

To ensure the provision of high quality, consumer responsive, culturally sensitive, and cost-effective services to those who are living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse. We are committed to flexible, accessible, family-centered services that honor the dignity, respect the rights and maximize the potential of the individual.

Western Highlands will ensure the development and management of a comprehensive network of community services and supports for people with mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities. Western Highlands will link the individuals and families with services and supports to allow them to live successfully in their communities.

Western Highlands will work in partnership with consumers, providers, and communities to coordinate quality services based on best practices and fiscal soundness, which meet the needs of consumers and their families.
