Meeting
I. Welcome and Introduction
David Bogin has joined the CFAC meeting for the evening. He has returned his application and interviewed with Leslie and Bill earlier this evening.
II. Approval of Agenda (Any additions/changes by Committee Members)
Add Jim Greer has an announcement, add Membership Committee report & change CFAC Leadership Conference to allow all who attend to speak rather than just Leslie giving a report.
III. Review/Approval of February Minutes
Approved with corrections.
IV. Jim Greer Announcement
MCADD – Recovery Event will be held September 13, 2008, 9:00am at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Asheville. More information to come at a later date.
V. WHN News
- Medicaid Targeted Case Management Proposals – WHN should already be implementing this. Potential problem down the road. (Bob Carey will email the group some information from MHA regarding this situation)
- Governor Press Conference – Handout. Merging of LME’s is being talked about.
- Letter from Mental Health Association (MHA) of Yancey County requesting more WHN Community Consumer Relations Specialist and have them based within the county/community – Prior to Reduction in Force (RIF) there were four individuals for all 8 counties. Arthur will work with Mandy Stone to get a response back to the MHA.
VI. Relational Agreement - Handout
CFAC has approved Relational Agreement with Page 3 Item 3 being reworded. Heidi will make corrections, remove draft and have documents ready for Leslie to sign at the next WHN Board Meeting (Friday, April 4th).
VII. Consumer Run Business Update
The event will be May 14, 2008 at 10:00 – 4:00pm. It will be held at the Asheville Civic Center (cost $1500+ including food). So far we have 8 to 9 presenters. Arthur will be the keynote speaker along with Rosemary Weaver. Heidi will be sure to let Andrea know to include Kelly Rowe Rodriquez and Rosemary Weaver on all emails regarding the event. Heidi handed out copies of a video – the video is one man’s journey (he will be attending the event) that now runs a PSR. Please watch the video and give Heidi your opinion.
VIII. CFAC Leadership Conference
Cindy Gibson was the keynote speaker and did a great job and really put things into perspective. Jim collected information from the evening session and has compiled answers to different questions and will send them to Heidi who will email them to the group. Jim is waiting for information regarding the Feedback forms for presenters. Jim will email the results once available.
IX. CFAC May Meeting in Polk County
May’s meeting will be moved due to Memorial Day. The date will be May 12th and will be held in Polk County. Donna and Leslie will work on moving this meeting.
X. NASD
Renewal Kits – Warren Wilson, Brevard, Isothermal & WHN (extra) New Kit – Mars Hill College (This is their first year participating)

Tabled until next month.

Howard attended the meeting but was absent from the CFAC meeting.

Draft minutes to the meeting will be emailed to the group.

David Bogin was asked if he would like to attend the next CFAC meeting on April 28th.
XIII. Other – Crisis Planning Training for CFAC Members
Jim will let Ann Remington know that CFAC would like to attend the Hickory Session instead of Lake Junaluska. Jim will find out when and where we will be attending and email Heidi who will email the group.
