MINUTES OF CFAC MEETING

II. Approval of Agenda (Any additions/changes by Committee Members)
Approved.
III. Review/Approval of March Minutes
Approved with changes.
IV. LOC (legislative) Update
Heidi will mail the draft report to CFAC. Larry Thompson gave everyone an update of what is going on with LOC. State would like to see about 6 LME’s. Decisions are still being made. Larry will find out how much Value Options is paid from the state and will let CFAC know.
V. Service Gap Study - Donald Ruess
Books were handed out. Donald will be glad to answer any questions – Please fill out the feedback form. The more feedback forms we receive the more updated the information will be. From this study – new projects are coming up. Some of the money to support these projects will come from the hospital diversion funds. One project is the gap in Child Substance Abuse Treatment.
VI. Voices Training - Christine Kudlate
Handout. Christine came to CFAC Executive Meeting in April and was asked to come explain to the entire group the training. Christine would like to get together with CFAC to promote these trainings to different providers and stakeholders throughout the eight counties. Bob Carey motioned CFAC donate the money to buy the equipment for the trainings. Rosemary seconds the motion with addition of those CFAC members interested, being trained first. Everyone agreed. Christine will work with Heidi to order the equipment and Heidi will let CFAC know when it comes in.
VII. Mercer Results
Handout with Web address to see results. WHN was in Tier One!!
VIII. Consumer Run Business Event Update
Handout of Flyer with registration form. Feel free to make copies or contact Heidi and she can email you a copy.
IX. CFAC June Meeting in Polk County
Bill suggests that we get a committee together.
X. Regional Customer Services/Train-the-Trainer
Bob Carey will be attending as a CFAC Representative. Nancy Carey will attend as Human Rights, Lynn Trotter and Rose Stouder as Customer service and Client Rights staff. A provider representative is still being chosen.
XI. Community Relations Specialist Increase - Bob Carey
Handout. Bob Carey motions that CFAC back up MHA of Yancey County request that the LME hire Consumer Relations Specialist for each county. Rosemary seconds the motion and CFAC is behind the MHA request. This item will be brought up at the May CFAC meeting where Arthur Carder will be available for questions and comments.
XII. Regional Trainings for CFAC
Handout of date and time. May 1st in Hickory, NC. If you are attending, be sure to give Heidi your mileage so that she may turn it in for reimbursement.
XIII. NC TOPPS
Handout. This item was emailed to the CFAC group for review. Please let Bill Cook know your thoughts and comments. WHN will host NC TOPPS training in July (flyers will be sent out closer to the date).

XVI. Timed Agenda
Kelly motioned that a timed agenda be brought back along with a limit to agenda items. CFAC agreed the motion with all in favor.
The next CFAC Meeting will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at WHN Room 315.
