- Nancy Baker
called the meeting to order, introduced guest and then asked
for comunity comments.

of Minutes |
- Minutes
of the May and July meetings were reviewed.

- Minutes
approved as written.

IV. LME
Update |
- Larry
Thompson reported on the items to be discussed at the board
meeting including the following:
- The
applications to be a part of the pilot for single stream
funding has been submitted to the State Budget Office.
- WHN
has requested to be a site for the Utilization Management
pilot to begin in January 2006.
- Respite.
A discussion ensued.
- Crisis
Center:
- WHN
has requested $3 million from the state to build a crisis
center.
- Hospitals
in Asheville, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville, Rutherfordton
and Brevard continue to explore the idea of a 23-hour bed.
- WHN
continues to explore the possibility of having a Crisis
Team for children.

V. Orientation |
- Donna Tatnall
gave an orientation to CFAC for all members present. Donna stressed
the difference between having a personal investment as opposed
to a personal agenda and recognizing that participation is
on behalf of all consumers and family members, not just those
with whom members are most directly identified. A list of accomplishments
was shared with the group and plans for reaching groups in the
community was discussed.

CFAC brochures was recommended.

VI. Respite |
- The task
force on benefits will meet to look at the issue.

be held on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
