Community Connections

Meeting in Mad/Mit/Yan County regarding services and Gaps of services.  Alpha Omega is currently struggling. 

 

Welcome & Introductions

Christine Smith attended and introduced herself.

 

Approval of Agenda

Approved with changes and additions.

Add WHN Board Financial Response, Have members review the new IPRS Basic Benefit Package and table the item until the 2/23 meeting.

Approval of December           Minutes

Approved.

 

Action Plan / Critical Issues

Bill will talk to Arthur regarding the “Hearing Voices Training” and will talk to Mandy Stone regarding the “Issue of WHN Board meeting time and place”.  This item was originally introduced to the WHN Board Executive Committee during the November 2008 Joint Executive Meeting.

Changes to be made and emailed out to the entire CFAC.

Peer Support Specialist Programs

Handout from Bob Carey.  Bob suggests drafting an recommendations

Bob will email the WHN Board report to CFAC members for input. 

Basic Benefit Package from IPRS Consumers

Refer to documents emailed on 12/27/08. Item is tabled for February meeting so that CFAC members can review the needed information.

Put on February’s Meeting Agenda.

Hospital ER Admissions – Bob Carey

Handout from Bob Carey.  Bob outlined the admissions to Hospital ER’s throughout the state and is commenting on WHN being the highest ranked for Hospital ER admissions.  Bob suggests CFAC to bring it up to the WHN Board as an issue for a response.   Rich commented that Buncombe County is aware of the high numbers and are currently working on possible solutions.   Rich talked about a possible plan Mission Hospital is working on – The idea is St. Joseph Campus will address Psychiatric issues and Mission will deal with all other issues.

Bob will add notes to current handout to give to the WHN Board.  Add:  Admits to ER not to the Hospital, Totals do not include SA or DD. 

 

On Going Business

Membership Recruitment:  Discussed the CFAC Reunion briefly.  Leslie has brought a draft of the letter.  Heidi will mail the letter to previous members.

 

Committee Reports

Executive Committee:  Ran out of time to discuss.

 

New Business

Christine Smith – Present members talked with Christine about CFAC and came to an agreement to accept Christine as a CFAC Member.  Christine accepted and is now a member of CFAC.

Heidi will update the contact information list and email it to the group.
