Member discussion: · review of written statement from Christine Kudlate · discussion of statement from ARP Phoenix · the financial situations of Family Preservation Svcs (for profit), ARP Phoenix, Alpha Omega, Patton Counseling, Families Together
Joint Committee Mtg on Wednesday, March 25th
Incentive pay to providers in rural counties
NAMI Grading the States Report · Member asked how stimulus money will affect services in NC? Will NC have to provide difference in funds?
· Bill & Bob stated that Chris Phillips suggested to use report to advocate for change
· Member asked how many states failed? What was average grade? What state has best overall program (NAMI executive was asked), Ohio. Can NC benefit from knowledge of their program?
· MH advocate who visits hospitals – perhaps team w/ volunteer, family member & professional to monitor and reflect to LME
Kelly – send MHA announcement for March 27th event to Peer Counseling Graduate Class
Suggested items for Joint Committee Meeting · Use the Grading of the States Report to promote change · Write a letter regarding the $$$ aspect of the stimulus package · LOC recommendations to the GA · Follow up w/ Board Members contact info on website, a. if fearful of contact from general public; make link to a standardized form which do not show WHN staff email but directs form as needed · LBP comments and questions · Are other LMEs having these problems?
State information · Regional meetings of Reform of MH care, one meeting in NC – need to obtain time & date · Involuntary commitment laws · UM/UR funds not in LOC recommendation àClass action lawsuit by providers against VO, contract not being reviewed a. Why change – finally got VO billing, payments, service under control (??) Why be in such a hurry? · Nesbitt not for more consolidation; 1 of 38 members of mh/dd/sa comm that makes the rules
CFAC Regional meetings · Get chairs together for working lunch or something · Visit other CFAC meetings
Bob suggested that we work w/ State Coalition – they meet once a year to talk $$$
Fund Balance Discussion · Dan Zorn & other providers funds cut effective February 19th …letter from WHN dated March 12th … · CFAC agreed to request Sharon L. at meeting in April/May about 2009-2010 budget (has to be approved by June)
Potential office move – lease ends in June, renewable by either party – who knows what?
Member discussion regarding outdated action plan & critical issues, possible secretary for CFAC to keep minutes a. Kelly will redo action plan, critical issues and long-term projects
