Guests report on consequences of |
Guest 1: Was turned away from Mission Hospital when he asked for help with crack/cocaine addiction. They refused service saying he had no traces of drug currently in his system. He had to go out and get messed up just so he could get help with treatment. He’s been clean ever since. Guest 2: October Roads referred her to Mission ER. Mission refused her in ER because they didn’t have enough beds. Phone guest: Reported that in 2009 her son ended his life. The night before he was turned away from the hospital because of lack of beds. |

Membership: Two applicants for membership interviewed. One will be presented for consideration. New Member Orientation: Suggestion brought forth to use the last 30 minutes of a regular CFAC meeting to break into small groups for generating feedback on what members would like to see in the New Member Orientation packet/training. WHN Board meetings: Still need to schedule meeting in a northern county. CFAC Small Group Breakout: Will earmark time in next meeting for small group breakouts according to Area of Disability. |

Membership Service Terms |
Members were emailed WHN CFAC By-laws before the meeting in preparation for voting on item 6) Terms o f Membership. Current item reads: New members will be identified by the current CFAC with input from local consumers and advocacy groups representing the appropriate disability area(s). The CFAC will vote to confirm all new members, who will serve for a three-year term. However, no member may serve for more than six years total, with a rotation off the committee before submitting another application for membership. Should it be necessary, vacancies in membership will be filled other than during January, with the term of service ending according to the original position’s schedule.
Proposed change: Add the following to the end of Terms of Membership:
