Buncombe County Directory of Senior Services

Website: http://main.nc.us/social_services/

If you are seeking services for yourself, a loved one, or another senior adult in Buncombe County, we hope you will find the information contained in the pages of this Senior Adult HELP Directory helpful. The directory is a joint project of the ACC (Aging Coordinating Consortium of Buncombe County) and the 2-1-1 Call Center of the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. Our aim is to provide information to those who seek it and inspire others to fill gaps where services are not available. This online directory is very comprehensive.

The Asheville Radical Mental Health Collective

(ARMHC or The Collective) is an informal peer support group of people with diverse perspectives on mental health.
We are inclusive and nonjudgmental. We are not associated with any particular way of thinking. We share leadership, experiences, responsibilities, resources and real human support. We support all positive possibilities for self-care and healing. We accept and embrace ourselves, each other, and our choices for wellness. We work toward a positive viewpoint of mental health. Decisions for the group will be made using consensus and participatory democracy models (basically, if you show up and participate, you will have a say in what goes on). Our structure is organic, living, breathing and changeable.

The Asheville Radical Mental Health Collective meets every Monday night, 7-9 p.m., at the YWCA which is located at 185 S. French Broad Avenue in Asheville, NC.
