Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Information


CIT training educates and prepares law enforcement officers who come into contact with people with severe mental illnesses on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of these illnesses and respond effectively and appropriately to people experiencing a psychiatric crisis. CIT is designed to improve officer and consumer safety and redirect consumers from the judicial system to the health care system.
