Western Highlands Network achieved a three year national accreditation by CARF on June 30, 2009. The North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities Services requires that providers of specific services achieve national accreditation in order to be eligible to do business with them or the Division of Medical Assistance. As a CARF Accredited Services Management Network, Western Highlands Network is working with unaccredited providers to assist them in meeting this mandate either by receiving full Accreditation or by helping them prepare for and implement the CARF Standards for Unaccredited Providers.
