NOTE: Information contained on this page may not apply to all Providers doing business with Western Highlands Network.  Please see below for exclusions.

Western Highlands Network achieved a three year national accreditation by CARF on June 30, 2009.

The North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities Services requires that providers of specific services achieve national accreditation in order to be eligible to do business with them or the Division of Medical Assistance. As a CARF Accredited Services Management Network, Western Highlands Network is working with unaccredited providers to assist them in meeting this mandate either by receiving full Accreditation or by helping them prepare for and implement the CARF Standards for Unaccredited Providers.

The CARF Standards for Unaccredited Providers do NOT apply to providers who: 1) Provide services not included in DMH accreditation mandates; 2) Have provided Western Highlands Network with evidence that they are meeting established benchmarks for or have achieved accreditation by COA, CQL, CARF or The Joint Commision; 3) Do less than $10,000 worth of business with Western Highlands Network.

All unaccredited providers as well as Providers interested in or seeking CARF Accreditation can contact us at the following address:
