The Friday E-Mail is a weekly update for providers by the Services Management Department of Western Highlands Network. Please distribute to all your staff.
New features now available on WHN website!
As you may have noticed the Western Highlands website has recently undergone some changes. Pages have been reorganized to make them more user friendly and new features have been added to assist providers. The following are a couple of new features we would like you to check out.
Training & Technical Assistance Page:

A comprehensive training calendar has recently been added to the Training & Technical Assistance page of the WHN website. This calendar will be used to display all trainings that are being conducted by WHN, providers, and community resources that may be beneficial to providers. If your agency would like to post training for other providers to attend please fill out the provider-to-provider registration form located on this page and send to the location indicated. We hope this will be an opportunity for providers to begin to share resources with each other. Feel free to send all trainings that you have space available for other providers to attend such as First aid/CPR, NCI, or service definition training. During this difficult time of transition it is important we share our resources.

Simply go to the page listed above, submit your question, it will be routed to the appropriate staff, and a response will be sent back to you. Also your question and the answer will be posted periodically for other providers to see that may have similar questions. We hope that this will become a valuable resource in helping providers find the correct answers to your questions.

One more reminder...
As explained in Friday Email Newsletter #16, from 8/12/05, Non-case responsible providers may submit their own SARS. However, prior to making a request, there must be a utilization review based on the medical necessity requirements in the service definition and an up-to-date PCP. Only the case responsible agency can complete the utilization review. The expectation is that the UR be completed by the case responsible agency and communicated to the non-case responsible agency, prior to the submission of the SAR.
