WHN Announces Streamlined Process for IPRS Funded SA IOP Authorizations

In an effort to continue to improve efficiency for both WHN and the Provider community at large, WHN has developed the following streamlined procedure to be used when requesting IPRS funded SA IOP services.

The following procedures will be effective as of 10/01/06:

1. Please fax all documents to 225-2784 when requesting IPRS Funded SA IOP.
2. Documents required to approve requests:
   1. A valid IPRS covering the dates requested
   2. Demographic Form with diagnosis for al unopened cases
   3. A completed SAR requesting 30 units for 90 days
   4. A current PCP signed by the consumer, the Q, and an MD, PhD, LPA, or an FNP that has SA IOP as an intervention.
3. An URGENT request for new consumers may be made without a PCP, but it must be accompanied by the SA IOP Worksheet. The request will be pended with the start date as requested, allowing two weeks for the PCP and other necessary documentation to be submitted.

An SA IOP Reauthorization Worksheet will be required for extensions or requests for additional units.
