Please distribute to all your staff. New Vista/Mountain Laurel Transition Information New Vistas/ Mountain Laurel discontinued providing services as of October 31, 2006. The following providers will be able to assist consumers with their needs (for a complete list of providers, please link to the Western Highlands website provider search: http://www.westernhighlands.org/search.cfm) Buncombe county consumers on Clozaril or receiving medication injections: The new site to receive these medications is Western NC Community Health Services in West Asheville. The address is 10 Ridgelawn Rd., Asheville, NC 28806, phone 828-285-0622. Directions are as follows: Going West - Take I-240 West to Exit 2, which is marked "West Asheville". At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Haywood Rd. Stay on Haywood Rd. for approximately 1/3 mile. The clinic is located at the intersection of Haywood, Beverly, and Ridgelawn Roads. (This intersection makes a big curve to the left.) The front lawn has a sign saying "WNC Community Health Services" in green letters. Going East - Take I-240 East to Exit 2, which is marked "West Asheville". At the end of the ramp turn left onto Hanover St. Stay on Hanover St. until you come to a traffic light at the intersection with Haywood Rd. Turn right onto Haywood Rd. Henderson County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Parkway Behavioral Health, 132-B 3rd Ave East, Hendersonville, phone 828-692-8221. Madison County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Alpha Omega, 493 Medical Park Dr., Marshall, phone 828-649-2367. Mitchell County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Alpha Omega, 129 Sky View Circle, Spruce Pine, phone 828-675-0037. Polk County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Parkway Behavioral Health, 330 Carolina Dr., Tryon, phone 828-859-6661. Rutherford County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Parkway Behavioral Health, 271 Callahan-Koon Rd., Spindale, phone 828-287-6110 (temporary). Transylvania County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Parkway Behavioral Health, 18 Hospital Dr., Brevard, phone 828-884-2027. Yancey County: During business hours, emergency services may be obtained via Alpha Omega, 72 Blue Ridge Lane, Burnsville, phone 828-682-2111. After hours and weekends Western Highlands Emergency Services can be accessed by calling 211 where available or 1-800-951-3792. Medical Records: New Vistas' medical record information will be maintained locally through December 31, 2006. WHN continues their commitment to helping consumers & communities identify local resources that benefit consumers and assist providers in finding creative solutions that help fill gaps in traditional services. This listing is in its infancy, but is growing rapidly with information regarding heating assistance, after-school programs, training opportunities, etc. Our hope is to develop a resource that will serve as an electronic bulletin board for events, trainings and assistance.
