Western Highlands Network Announces New Federal Poverty Guidelines
The following table illustrates the 200% federal poverty levels as of
April 1, 2006 which will help determine eligibility for state funded
services.
Please remember, if the consumer’s income is higher than
the guidelines above, he or she may qualify for State Funded Mental Health
coverage. If his or her income falls below these guidelines, he or she
may qualify for North Carolina Health Choice if there are children in
the family, or the consumer may qualify for Medicaid.
It is incumbent
for providers to advise the consumer about how he or she can access
these Mental Health Care funding sources. If your consumer does not qualify
for either of these funding sources, and his or her income and family
size are more than the guidelines, WHN will use the updated State Eligibility
Statement in place of denial verification from either Medicaid or Health
Choice. This form may be accessed at http://www.westernhighlands.org.
