NC Healthcare Help was designed to help Medicaid recipients and people who don't have health insurance find doctors, clinics, dentists and other health resources in their communities. It lists each county and sorts for various services such as pharmacies, free clinics, mental-health programs, and doctors and dentists who take Medicaid. |

Children First of Buncombe
County - The mission of Children First
is to improve the lives of children, youth and their families through
community collaboration, advocacy and programs. |

F.I.R.S.T.
- A nonprofit, parent driven and family centered organization started
in 2001. F.I.R.S.T. started as Special Needs Families' Information
Resource Support and Technology, and is an information clearinghouse,
resource center, and unique source of support to families of children
with disabilities. We are in partnership with the Asheville Parks
and Recreation Department in Buncombe County. F.I.R.S.T. has been
awarded CPRC funding from the Department of Education for parent
training and information of children's rights under IDEA. Our
project "Family Education Collaborative" will serve Buncombe, Henderson,
Madison, and Yancey Counties. |

WNCAP - the Western North
Carolina Aids Project, offering educational programs, outreach, referrals,
advocacy, and assistance. |

WNC Families CAN - through
mutual support and community collaboration, provides resources, referrals,
education, and advocacy for families who have children with challenging
